= NetWell to start selling Vubiq, Inc.’s world’s first 60 GHz Transmitter and Receiver Micro Modules for video and wireless communications applications!!=
NetWell concluded a Distributorship Agreement with Vubiq Inc. (California, U.S.) and started selling on July 1, 2008 Vubiq’s recently announced world’s first 60 GHz, broadband, very high speed, transmitters (V60TX101) and receivers (V60RX101) integrated into BGA surface-mount packages (standard 10mm x 10mm x 4mm), along with a cost-effective 60 GHz development system (V60DSK01) including said 60 GHz transmitter & receiver micro modules.
Vubiq’s these tiny radio modules cover the 57 – 64 GHz band, allocated for unlicensed use worldwide, and the synthesizer incorporated in these modules covers the 57 – 64 GHz Frequency in 0.5 GHz steps. Utilizing its own antenna and transmission line circuit design technology and IBM’s highly reliable SiGe semiconductor chips, Vubiq has recently completed these 60 GHz integrated radio on a chip (“smaller than a dime”).
Both “V60TX101” transmitter module and the “V60RX101” receiver module have integrated antennas. The Development System “V60DSK01” consists of a transmitter circuit board and a receiver circuit board containing these transmitter and receiver modules, a USB Cable, a user-friendly GUI interface, a 5V power supply and a Bench Top Set.
Through the Distributorship Contract with NetWell, Vubiq is aiming to expand sales of their newly developed products in the markets of HDTV wireless video transport, wireless IC tag (RFID), WPAN, P2P wireless data link, and so on.
Since its foundation in 2003, Vubiq has been devoted to the development of their own BGA package technology-based tiny radio modules utilizable for the specific 60 GHz band applications, such as wireless transmission of the HD image and sound in an uncompressed form.
Vubiq has recently disclosed a plan to release transmitters and receivers that meet the IEEE802.15.3c standard as one of Vubiq’s 60 GHz applications, in the Q1 of 2009. Vubiq’s upcoming micro modules will be usable at the 57 – 66 GHz band, characterized by a center frequency spacing of 2160 MHz, and a bandwidth of 1780 MHz with the capability of supporting broadband data transmission.
Vubiq’s 60 GHz technology is characterized in that it enables the higher transmission speed at the wider bandwidth and the real-time data transmission made possible by data being transmit in uncompressed form not requiring encode or decode, compared with the products compliant with UWB or IEEE.802.11.
NetWell is targeting the upcoming bulk data transmission era and is now focusing on introduction and sales of the world’s most advanced millimeter wave technology-based wireless modules and other components including the above-introduced Vubiq products.
